Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 8, 2026
Impulse is a biomechanics analysis app that measures sprint acceleration mechanics from slow-motion video footage. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and your rights as a user.
1. Who we are
Impulse is developed and operated by Keertan Sawtell, an independent developer based in New York, NY. If you have questions about this policy, you can contact us at hello@impulsesprint.com.
2. Data we collect
Impulse collects only what is necessary to provide sprint analysis. Specifically:
- Name — entered voluntarily during onboarding, used to personalize your experience within the app.
- Height — entered voluntarily during onboarding and before each session, used to calibrate speed calculations from video footage.
- Video footage — recorded using your device camera or uploaded from your camera roll. Video is transmitted to our processing servers for biomechanical analysis and is not retained or stored after analysis is complete.
- Session data — the results of each analysis session, including shin angle, ground contact time, flight time, and velocity metrics. This data is stored locally on your device only.
3. Data we do not collect
- We do not collect your email address or create user accounts.
- We do not collect location data.
- We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties for marketing purposes.
- Video footage is processed and immediately discarded. We do not store, view, or retain any video submitted for analysis.
4. How we use your data
The data collected is used solely to provide the core functionality of the app — analyzing your sprint mechanics and presenting results to you. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond delivering the analysis you request.
5. Data storage and security
Session results (metrics derived from your video analysis) are stored locally on your device using your device's native storage. This data does not leave your device except as part of features you explicitly use, such as sharing a results screenshot.
Video submitted for analysis is transmitted securely over HTTPS to our processing infrastructure. It is processed in memory and discarded immediately upon completion. No video is written to persistent storage on our servers.
6. Device permissions
Impulse requests the following device permissions:
- Camera — required to record slow-motion footage for analysis.
- Photo Library — required only if you choose to upload existing footage from your camera roll. This permission is optional.
You can revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings. Revoking camera access will prevent recording functionality.
7. Children's privacy
Impulse is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
8. Your rights
Because all session data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by removing the app or clearing app data in your device settings. Since we do not maintain user accounts or server-side personal data, there is no additional data to request or delete from our systems.
If you are a resident of California, the EU, or another jurisdiction with applicable privacy laws, you may have additional rights. Please contact us at hello@impulsesprint.com with any requests.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
10. Contact
If you have any questions or concerns about this privacy policy, please contact us at hello@impulsesprint.com.
